This therapy is particularly beneficial for chronic pain relief. During a cupping session, a therapist will periodically place silicone cups on or near areas of tension to create a suction. They may leave the cups in place for several minutes or briefly move the cups to stretch & massage the area. This therapy encourages significant blood flow to promote healing and reduce pain. The suction from the cups may break open tiny blood vessels under the skin, causing discoloration that should fade within in 7-10 days.
